When I lived in San Diego, there was this little outdoor, beachside shop right off the 101 with...

...about a thousand different pots and all different species of plants, aptly named, "The Mad Potter." I could wander for hours, as I LOVE plants- they simply make me happy. All different shapes, sizes, height and "weight" and it was like a visual puzzle to then find their perfect pot 'mates'. Plants still make me immensely happy, and I am glad to know that there is actual science to back this up. Aside from the fresh oxygen they bring indoors, they have a calming effect, and actually grow best (yes, science proves this too) when they're admired and loved. Not only do they add incredibly interesting visual shape and texture, no two are alike, making them feel like unique little gems waiting to be noticed. They can be serious or playful, subtle or loud and immediately warm any space. So if you're at a loss on where to start, simply go buy a plant, and let your mind begin to wander.
XO- Susan
“It's something that plant lovers have long suspected, but now Australian scientists have found evidence that plants really can feel when we're touching them."
