Susan Jenkins, Lead Designer, ASID

Susan Jenkins began her career in Interior Design over 15 years ago. She has a BS in International Business and Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University and her Associates Degree from Palomar College, San Diego, one of the top design schools on the West Coast.

While in San Diego, Susan worked for the prestigious firm, Interspec, and was part of a team that designed high-end, coastal residential homes throughout Southern California. Her husband's career in the sale of luxury master-planned communities took their family to multiple destinations across the nation. Susan had the unique advantage of being able to hone her craft by witnessing the work of some of the best designers, builders and architects within these communities. Much of her design inspiration comes from developments such as Santaluz (San Diego, CA), The Peninsula Club (Lake Norman, NC), Silverleaf (Scottsdale, AZ), and now The Grove (College Grove, TN). Having an understanding of these regional design elements makes Susan's personal style a reflection of her "East meets West" journey.

Annette Bodnar

Annette is my Design Assistant, (and S+S pup #2, Mr. Cabo Jenkins ☺) she is my savior assisting with onsite client visits, space planning, sourcing and giving my work a “second eye”. Annette holds an Interior Design Degree from MTSU. Our design aesthetic is aligned and we share the goal of providing functional, calm and comfortable spaces for our clients. She is immensely talented and a pleasure to work with (she is a Yogi 🧘🏻‍♀️so enough said). Annette lives in Rock Island with her husband, 3 dogs and 2 cats. They have three grown children and recently finished building a gorgeous empty nest on the river. She lives a very active lifestyle and tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible. She feels fortunate her job allows her to work most days from her back deck with her dogs at her feet.

"I believe great design is a combination of large scale planning and visual alignment, but the development of smaller, thoughtful  'moments' are ultimately responsible for creating the character of the space."- Susan Jenkins
